Laminated parts come out of their moulds smooth, continuous and oversized. They then need to be drilled & trimmed prior to optional further processing.
After your part is laminated our post production capabilities can really add value by getting it ready for your operation or customer. Parts can be marked and drilled with jigs then trimmed by hand for the most economical solution. For greater precision we can build fixtures and trim parts automatically using our 5-axis CNC machine. Areas of the part with critical thickness specs can be sanded or machined.
Most parts come out of the mould with the appropriate colour gelcoat. Parts are typically smooth and shiny but can also have different gloss levels or finishes and can even incorporate non-slip textures. Parts can also be made with grey sandable gelcoat and supplied prepped for painting.
Once the part is finished we can provide added value by either assembling it to other fiberglass parts or by adhesively bonding or bolting hardware onto the parts.
An important part of the process is packaging the parts so that they can be efficiently and safely delivered to your facility. We use standard packaging from boxes to skids as well as custom solutions such as custom made re-useable skids or frames to hold the parts during transport.
We at FibreLam are very experienced in shipping both locally and all over the world. We can handle shipping of individual parts to staging of large orders for shipping by road, air or sea.
